I recently picked up a MIM Fender P ("Noir") and restrung it with La Bella DTFs. After giving it a basic set-up (relief, action, intonation), the G string at the 3rd fret has developed a buzz. When I fret at the 1st, 2nd and 4th frets, no buzz. Could this be a high 4th fret that the string is vibrating against?
FYI, my neck relief is approximately .010 at the 8th fret when I capo the first fret and hold down the 15th. Plus, my action is around 7/64th bass side and 5/64th treble side. I usually go with a straighter neck and lower action with my Ricks, but this P bass seems to be happy where I have it - otherwise, it was buzzing all over the place.
Any advice would be appreciated.
