Greetings Talkbass Brothers.

I have quite a few Builds going at the moment but I am focusing on this one at the moment.

It took me quite some time to find the perfect Black P-Bass body. Then I scoured the Net for a Pick Guard that I could see looking like the image in my head.

I have quite a few necks that I need to sort through and make my selection. For now, I am focusing on getting the electronics installed and Relic-ing the Scratch plate.

Here are a few shots of the MJT with a coat of my secret wax. The wax has been on for 24 hours and it's time to buff it off and ad more coats.
MJT doesn't recommend adding anything to their Relic finishes but I like to seal them up nice. When I'm done it will feel like I've been playing it for 40 years. Nice and Smooth! The '70's neck will be the perfect complement to this body.

Well, I changed my mind and decided on an EMG Geezer Pickup. I also decided to use a sweet Maple MusiKraft Quartersawn neck with Black Blocks & Binding.

I had a Badass II bridge so I may as well use it. I am going to add a shim just because I know how it goes with Badass's. They always create high action and a .5 Degree Shim will probably be perfect.

For anyone following along on this build, I went back and forth deciding which neck I wanted to use.

I ended up doing a Fretless instead of the Musikraft. I am glad I did because it really sings. The EMG's are dead silent and sound fantastic.

I'll snap some Pictures of the final build later today and post them up.

Okay, I think I am settled on this build. I mainly do this so I can have a record of my builds. I lost a ton of pictures during the Photobucket fiasco.

Anyhow, Thanks for checking it out.
Here's the final build pics

What level of relic did you get with the black? It looks like a medium. It also looks like you order the white undercoat. I recently placed an order for light black relic on a 72 Tele Bass project. How long did it take for your order to be completed or was this an off the shelf body? Wanna share the secrets of your wax compound?

You are correct about the medium relic white undercoat. I believe it was a 10 week wait for the body.

I like the idea of a wax seal coat, despite their protests. How do or did you like the bass and work. Who's wax are you using?
I think MJT is about the best in the biz for these types of relic bodies. They did tell me not to use wax but only because they are supposed to continue to relic more.
I’m PMing you on the wax question.
