Future Impact custom midi mapping

Hi everyone!

I just got my FI in the mail and couldn't be more excited, I've gone through a bunch of synth pedals over the years and this is hands down the best. I've been searching around and haven't been able to find specifics of how I want to use it though. Here's the setup I got/am looking to get working.

FI connected to both bass and midi controller
USB midi host to power controller and convert to 5-pin
Akai mpk mini mk3 to control midi parameters of patches, switch banks, and also play keys

I'm just diving into the world of midi mapping so I'm actively trying to figure it out but I figured I'd post here in case someone has done something similar and can save me some trial and error or extraneous google searches.

Welcome to TB. It's a deep pond with lots of info, and I believe your search-fu will grow exponentially as your knowledge of Future Impact MIDI implementation and use does as well.

Your best bet is to start here and do some reading and also maybe ask some directed questions.

Lots of us use FI with controllers (actually use two different controllers on my board with mine) , so it'll be more about familiarizing yourself with how CC and PC stuff functions in general.

FI Buddy

Having serious problems with the program change switch live on stage (step dance), I decided to develop the FI Buddy. I wanted not only to improve the program change facility but I added also some features I personally was missing:


1. Readable Program Title

2. Autostart Function of the FI

3. Blender to easy mix dry and wet

4. Additional Stereo Effect

Especially the stereo effect blows up your mind. I am using this for PA Mixing and recording. Most of the Stereo Enhancers use a delay, reverb or chorus. This, however, in most cases is creating a ping pong mix from left to right. I wanted to create an enlarged width of the signal that is still natural.

I am preparing an video of all functions shortly.
