Good afternoon All,

I had a L-2500 some years back that I believe had a 3 position toggle for passive/active/active with treble boost. In looking at the G&L website today I no longer see it directly referenced. Was this discontinued in newer models? I found it really aggressive and helpful for certain styles and soloing and was curious of the boost frequency.

Their website though sparse on control information does list the preamp switch as three positions (but they don't mention "high boost" as the third position). So far as I know nothing has changed in the active preamp except the number of the IC used because the original was no longer made and a substitute was chosen. You could email G&L and ask if it's been changed or if the standard "what controls do" diagram they send with basses is still the same. I'm pretty sure it is, but I don't speak for G&L.

It is the M2500 that changed the electronics to a more standard active bass/treble EQ and eliminated Leo's last circuit. Also pickups were underwound to cut aggression. But so far as I know all the L2X00 are still the same.

Done from my phone. Sorry if it doesn't load right. This is the switching diagram from my 2015 L2000. I would think they're the same. I don't know what the cut-off frequency is for the boost though. Not sure if this is what you're looking for.
