Gallien Krueger MB112 First Series. What's going on?

Hello guys,
I'm a bit in a pickle with my GK mb112.

I think I pushed it a little too far in a gig during the summer and, as a consequence, it started rattling. Blown driver, you might think.
Well, that's what I thought as well at first.

I took off the front grid some time later and the speaker looks immaculate. No cracks, no signs of problems on it.

I tried to turn it on. It played like a charm. I pushed the volume and then again, no problems.

I leave it on for a few hours to see if it overheats. The fan never turns on, but, on a second try it starts rattling again especially on the lows. I play with it for a few minutes until it completely stops producing sound. Turn off, turn on. No sound.
"It's dead" I think, crying a little.

Now, this morning I decided to try it again, since I was thinking that it would be great to use in a school where i teach.

It worked fine, the speaker works again and I'm left completely confused. It didn't rattle at all, not even on the lows, not even at decently high volumes.

I really don't know what the problem might be. I thought it could have been the driver, but now I'm starting to think it is not.

In all of this, the blue light works just fine, the various knobs for the EQ work and so on.
The only thing that leaves me wondering is the fan, because it doesn't really turn on, but as i read in other threads it kinda turns on only when needed...
At the same time, it gives me the feeling that overheating might be the problem, though then again, i'm not sure.

I'm at a loss of ideas about it.

What do you guys think the problem might be? Have you had similar experiences?

Thank you all very much!!

I had an MB150e in the 90s that exhibited similar sort of behavior. I wound up letting it (well, the head, I still have the combo case) go but (much) later found out that this was pretty common and that a knowledgeable tech could do a reflow on the board which remedied most issues like this.
