I'd like to officially request that you please refer to the other Talkbass.com forums for certain gear questions that are general, basic, or not really germane to my experience. Examples of this might be asking about what kind of amp to buy at a certain budget, or a recommendation for a good 6-string bass. ;-) You get the idea. I like talking about gear as much as the next guy, but I'm not really an expert in areas like those, for instance. Gear I do know about to some extent are:
weird & vintage basses
pedals
vintage amps
But otherwise, most general or basic questions are better answered by people in other forums who will have far more expert advice than I could give. Likewise for most modern gear or stuff for sale right now; I tend to be a little bit behind the curve as far as that sort of thing goes.
