Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 mute issue

Hey folks,

My first thread after intro, woohoo!

I have run into a problem with my GB Shuttle 6.0 where I push the mute button on the amp face, the red light illuminates, and it has no effect on the amp output. It sounds like a relay trips in the amp (so not just the mechanical action of the push button), but the audio is not affected at all.

Can anyone give me insight into what could be going on? As an aside, the tube hasn’t been changed in about 4 years. Probably not related, just for background.

You might want to PM member Agedhorse; he designed the amp, and does tech work on them to this day, even though Genz Benz is no more. He will fix you up in no time !

Not a tube problem.

Could be a defective relay or something within the relay driver.

Your amp's covered under a factory flat rate service program provided nobody attempt to repair it because that causes much more work and time spent on additional work checking for damage caused. Generally, this costs $85 including parts and labor. The entire amp it brought back to original factory spec too.
