Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 - Repair/Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,

Have spent plenty of time over the years lapping up everyone’s opinions and gear review etc. I am in my one of need and thought I’d join the community and see if anyone can help me out!

I have a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0, absolute cracker of an amp, and must admit I wasn’t convinced by digital style amps but took the plunge and it’s never let me down - until now.

Fired it up at rehearsal and as soon as I turned the volume pot my speakers started pumping some serious air. There was no bass being output, just a pretty badly amount of noise. Suffice to say I don’t have the balls to plug it into any speakers to test it out again.

Even with nothing plugged in when powered on if i twiddle the master volume pot the limiter is freaking out (the led is going crazy).

Anyone know what this could be? I’m in Australia and there seems to be next to no support here for Genz Benz, and very few people are willing to touch it Repair wise. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I don’t have the cash to buy a new amp right now, and I really love the little Shuttle so I’m a bit shattered!

Any help/advice appreciated.

I've had occasional issues with my 6.0. It's always a connector on the circuit boards. Open it up and unplug and reseat every connector you can find. I hate ribbon cables for this very reason. Another thing to try is to run a quarter inch plug in and out of all the jacks a few times, especially the the effects return. Other than this, I got nothing.
