Hi, everyone.
I've done a search and nothing has shown up particular to what I'm asking. My Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 has been squealing a bit recently. I've been away in Japan for about 3 years, so it hasn't had any play since then. Could that be part of the issue? Basically, both the mid knobs ("Mid" and "Mid Freq") under the parametric EQ section seem to squeal and make all sorts of strange noises when I turn them. It's not all the time, and if I don't touch them, they're fine. It seems to be when they're turned past about 2 o'clock that they start playing up. I've tried the mute button, the gain and the tube preamp volume knobs. None of those alter the sound, so I guess it's happening after the preamp. It also does seem to be concentrated on those two controls on the mids section. The master volume does, of course, affect the volume of the squealing.
I know there are some GB people around, like Aged Horse. If anyone could chime in with some words of advice I'd be very glad. Long time player, who has never fiddled with amps before.
Cheers,
Shaun
