GENZ BENZ streamliner 600 noisy volume knob

You will need to check with the dealer you purchased it from, Canada has their own warranty procedure.

Note that spraying with anything would generally void the warranty as doing so improperly can cause a lot of additional damage.

This is a general warning with all manufacturers.

I dont want to ship my amp for a potentiometer... the dealer is not in my town or province. this is not my main amp. home practice with headphone only. I understand a little bit better the tradeoff of these amp. anyway if the warranty is void. I dont want to mess with it

Each country has their own warranty policies and terms. I don't know how the Canadian distributor's policies work.

If you have voided the warranty, that's something I can't help you with. Sorry.

Honestly, that was one of the issues that put me off Genz Benz amps. I keep my amps in their bags and generally keep them clean but I used to get those noisy pots. Sent it back to Genz to be cleaned. Got it back and the scratchyness came back. I had a Shuttle 6.0 and a 3.0. Both of them. Drove me nuts. I ended up selling/trading them away. Their pots are different from other manufacturers. Great amps but that bugged me.

Noisy pots do happen, but not very often. Maybe 2 or 3 out of the last 20 amps that I have seen for service.

Often, there is something else that is causing this symptom but not always. The most common by far is the amp taking a tumble (even in it's carry bag) and the pot being mechanically damaged from impact. This is why I urged the OP to have it looked at by the service center, and why randomly spraying stuff into it (even DeOxit) can cause additional problems unrelated to the original symptoms.
