Thought this is more of a bass question, so I've posted here rather than in strings.
The Gibson SG bass. I've got a satin 120th Anniversary one, and I'm still waiting for my 2018 cherry one. Even though they seem well available in the US, here in the UK I've been waiting nearly 10 weeks, and still no news...anyway...
My current SG is wearing Chromes. Great thud monster.
However, I've never heard said bass fitted with rounds, either nickel or stainless. Before I go and blow on a set, I was wondering if any other SG players on here have deviated from flats on theirs, and how they've found their tone/results.
The blame comes from Entwistle's monster clang on Live At Leeds. Gave me the idea of opening up my tone a bit (appreciate he used a P, and results will differ, but it was just the openness of the sound).
