GK 800rb Bass/Boost Pot Issue

Hey everyone,

I was curious if anyone ever experienced their 800rb’s bass and boost pots cutting out past the 3 o’clock position. The sound is still there, but seems to lose the bass and boost feature when cranked past a certain point. Almost seems like it’s clipping but I’m doubtful. I’m running a HD 410 cab and tried to replicate the issue on another cab and the issue persisted. The amp is still fully playable but would like to get some insight.

Common when somebody cleans a pot with "magic cure-all spray" without knowing what they are doing.

Generally, the fix involves replacing the now ruined with the correct part, which might need to come from GK for mechanical reasons.

I have a volume pot on my 800RB that is scratchy and will cut out at certain points. I reckon it’s just worn and needs replaced. I don’t much feel like trying to clean it.

If the pots were cleaned improperly, its likely that all pots need to be replaced. Sometimes it happens this way, and they continue to be problematic until replaced.
