Hello!

My Glockenklang Heart Core took a fall in the hard case after a gig the other night, and when I plugged it back in, the output had severely dropped, maybe to about 1/10th of what it was, and what was previously a silent amp now has a whirring/buzz sound that comes in and out from the head itself.

I think this is a toroidal transformer issue but I’m open to correction and advice on what the issue might be.

Has anyone experience in changing their transformers? I’ve heard there’s relatively little difference between them with regards to power transformers; output transformers on guitar amps and tube amps are a whole other story but luckily we’re only dealing with power transformers.

Also, has anyone any idea what transformer went into the Glockenklang Heart Core? I’ve emailed Glockenklang but haven’t heard back from them, and it’s been weeks now.

Thanks!

I would sure want to know for sure what's wrong before guessing on the most expensive part in the amp. I would also want to know the complete picture of what else might be wrong.

Personally, I very much doubt that it's the transformer, or the transformer alone. I would REALLY recommend finding a real, qualified technician that has experienced with this brand.

Thanks for the quick response! Don’t worry it is going to Ireland’s best bass amp technician, I just wanted to get a feeler out there for anyone with experience on similar issues

Hi Luke,
please contact us direct - the best way to get your amp back on track is, when we repair it. We have very bad experiences with repair guys.
