After 10 years, my Godin A4, died during a rehearsal (fortunately I have another fretless as a back up).
I was playing the A4 through my GK MB110, and plugged into a PA. Suddenly, a very loud crackling noise started and I turned off the amp. When I turned it on again, everything was dead. Checked the cords & connections and replaced the battery. Still dead. Plugged my passive bass in and everything worked fine. It was obviously a problem with the bass.
I emailed Godin's customer service department and they responded the next business day. The customer service rep suggested that my tech, spray contact cleaner on the preamp's and output assembly's circuit boards and to make sure that the battery connection was not corroded.
I did that and simply cleaning the volume slider solved the problem. Back in the saddle.
I have read negative reviews about Godin's customer service, so I though that it would be worthwhile sharing this with you Godin lovers!
