i am setting this thread up to give details of my different bass pedal reviews. Please comment, and share with anyone who might find these reviews useful.

My first review is of my SpectraDrive Preamp pedal, by TC Electronics.

There is so much in this pedal - Eq, Drive, Compression, TonePrints, DI, mp3 Line in, etc.

I take this pedal everywhere, and it’s especially useful when plugging straight into a PA.

What do you think? If you have the pedal, how do you find it?

I really liked it, but I didn't like that there isn't a blend knob for the OD and that most of the ODs cut out some deep lows in favor of low mids. Well, those and the fact that Toneprint beaming doesn't work with my Geezer P pickup.

That’s a real shame the TonePrint doesn’t beam with your pickup. Does TC Electronics know about this? So you would have to set up the Drive and Compression beforehand which does not give the flexibility you might want.

I don’t find a problem with no Drive blend but I could see that it would be an issue for some.

I suppose you never get the ‘perfect pedal’. Or maybe someone can point one out?

I think it's a known issue with the GZR pups. I got it to work one time! but every other time no dice. And my GF got REAL sick of the beam sound.

Anyways, used to be I didn't care about dirt blends, but with some I have found they're just what is needed - and a lot of the spectra's drive prints I think would benefit from it.

I’m really impressed with this Chorus pedal. I like that you can get a subtle chorus effect if so wished and the option to add chorus to just the upper or lower frequencies is a real bonus.

What are your thoughts?
