Hi this might be a bit of a silly thread but I thought it would be fun. Sometimes I like to match musicians across instrument, mostly just bass and guitar since those are the ones I'm familiar with.
For example:
-I've always seen Flea as being the Slash of the bass world and vice-verse. This is mostly due to their popularity in mainstream culture and I would also argue similar approach in their playing styles.
-I've always think of JPJ as being similar to Gilmour in their simple but tasteful licks/lines, they also have the same presence on stage in my eyes for some reason.
-I would also match Hendrix and Jaco for being revolutionary in their genres and also worshipped by guitarist and bassist as being the "one".
