Hey guys, I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on an inexpensive bass ukelele so I can practice in different places without having to drag my Sire around. I think I've narrowed it down to either the Harley Benton or Hadean from Rondo.

The Harley Benton appears physically larger than most bass uke's from the photo's and video reviews I've seen. The amplified sound is amazing too. It pretty much comes in only one color/wood choice.

The Hadean's appear to have more choices of wood, but are physically smaller. Not as many video reviews of these, and what is there doesn't really reveal what they sound like amplified.

They're both comparable in price, they both use the same strings, so I'm sort of torn. Does anyone own either of these? If so I'd love to hear your reviews! Thanks!

Whatever you decide on, I suggest switching the strings to Road Toad Pahoehoe or Aquila Thunder Reds (and coat once with powder). The Aquila Thunderguts are very sticky and will sausage over a relatively short time (and constantly need powder). The Pahoehoe are very smooth but stretch more so they take longer to settle in.

OK. Either one will be a fine choice, but after looking at the Benton, I like the configuration with the slightly longer scale and bigger body. When I decided to play bass with my uke group, I did so because of the availability of small basses. After looking at the Kala U-bass, I decided to go with the Gold Tone GT MicroBass 23" fretted because it felt better to me and I prefer cutaway. Since then all my basses are between 21 to 24.5" cutaway.
