Hagstrom Viking Bass Pickup Replacement

I recently purchased a Hagstrom Viking bass secondhand which had all the original electronics removed. My plan is to get the electronic components necessary to get the bass working. That said, I am uncertain as to which pickups I could/should get as replacements for the originals. The screw holes from the original pickup rings are 38mmx85mm and the pickup cavity itself is approximately 42mmx78mm. Does anyone have any experience getting replacement pickups for this bass? Or does anyone have any recommendations as to what I should be using?

It would probably take some mods, but the Darkstar/Bisonic as seen on the early Guild Statfire basses were actually Hagstrom pickups ... that would be my holy grail choice.
