Double Bass Hall of Fame 2 won't turn on with 9v power but will with battery

So this is what happened:
I was using toneprint app to set up some reverb settings and I unplugged the 9 volt power adapter because I couldn't hear any dry signal when I turn the pedal off. After that whenever I plug the 9 volt power adapter in to the pedal, it does nothing and will not turn on. It will work with the battery though. I looked for arcing on the 9 volt power adapter I used and on the inside of the 9 volt Jack on my pedal and there's no damage at all. I looked on the back of the circuit board where the 9 volt adapter is mounted and there is no damage at least right there on the back.

I have no idea what's causing this issue. Can anyone help me figure this out? I have a good understanding of electricity and circuits and troubleshooting. So any tips are welcome or if anyone else or if anyone else has ran into the same issue please help.

So this is what happened . . .
Have you tried Tone Print again with the battery? Low percentage bet, but it could be a software error.

Was the adapter made by the device manufacturer for the device?
If not, are these possible problems? Polarity? Amperage output? Variable voltage output?
Lastly, did you mean to put this in the Double Bass forum?
All sound questions!

I'd bet on wrong polarity. Unfortunately either polarity can be present for the common DC connector sizes. It can also be quite difficult to find documentation of which is the correct polarity for a given device.

There used to be a diagram on the inputs of devices explaining what polarity is expected...

Something like:

+ o)== -
or
- o)== +

But I don't have any idea what explanation exists on the OP's device.

Since we've never heard back from the OP, I suspect the problem was either solved, we're not targeting the issue at the level desired, or the answer was provided somewhere else (like on TB/BG).

I used an electro Harmonix 200 milliamp 9 volt power adapter. The current draw for the Hall of Fame is well below 200 milliamp.

And yeah I may have put this in another section by accident

Thanks for the posts. I opened it up and tested the voltage coming from the input 9 volt Jack to the circuit board and it is indeed giving power to the board. Seems like a deeper problem than I can fix at that point. I'll probably just buy an adapter to run a 9 volt power supply from the battery connector
