It's a Kahler rear-saddle tremolo. I have Kahler whammies on 3 basses and they are great. No issue with string breakage or neck strength. I have one on an Ibanez GRSM25 Mikro (28" scale, tiny thin neck, 5 strings, no problems). They can do deep dive bombs and can go up about a whole step or minor 3rd tops (2 or 3 frets' worth of pitch). Never had a string break on any kind of bridge once I realized it's all about the break angle over the bridge saddle.
If you do this you'll want to push for the forward-saddle version of the Kahler. I found the rear-saddle didn't have as much range of motion, so it's better for subtle effects and small vibratos. The forward saddle model is better for big dive bombs and more exaggerated bends.
The only reason Kahler made the rear-saddle version was to get it to fit on guitars that don't have much room behind the bridge saddles. I use the forward-saddle version on Ibanez SR basses which don't have much space to waste, and it works fine. It's ok if the Kahler extends past the tail a little bit.
