I have a bunch of hard cases that I would love to put in my attic. Thing is, the temperature can be 140 degrees in the summer. Will that damage the cases?
I have stored 4 hard rifle cases in my attic for the past 8 years with no ill effect on them.
One of them is very similar to an SKB type guitar case. In my area we see summer air temps average around 110 so the attic can get very hot in the summer.
Depends on the ruggedness of the plastic and more importantly, the interior material. High heat can literally melt some types of interiors. Peaveys are particularly prone to melt down and disintegration.
