Hello fellow bassists. I am wondering how many of you use the Hartke 410xl cabs with Gallien Krueger bass Heads? How is the the sound. Are the Gallien Krueger RBH cabs that much better sounding than the Hartke XL Cabs. I am concerned that the 410xl cabs will produce enough low end for a rock and funk band but also get the tight punchy high end. How do these set ups sound for those of you who own/have played through this setup. I have a 700RBII combo with a 115 speaker in it and would like to just use the head portion and plug into the 410xl cab when I am doing funk or need for prejection in my rock band also. The 115 by itself is a lil weak by itself in large bars with a loud rock band and not that good for funk type tones Any thoughts info greatly appreciated. Sincerely Growler571

Thanks for the info B string. I was kinda assuming the RBH cabs were ware a lot better but I wanted to hear from someone who actualy has played through a GK and 410xl. I have a Hartke 215xl that is no longer are and it produces tremendous low end obviously with the 215s but it is also tight and has just enough high end for rock, but for slap stuff like RHCP the 215s get a bit uncontrollable and lack the right punch of 10 inch drivers. I was wondering can I run a RBH410 and my 15 inch in the combo together? This will create a 4ohm load and will allow me to use the full 480 watts on my GK RB700II combo. I have heard bad poopie can happen pairing a 15 with a 410 cab though. Any thoughts welcome.

My opinion/experience is to try it. Good things can came from it just as easily as "bad" things. At the power levels you will be, I would not be concerned with blowing speaker cabs from the pairing. The powerful low end from the 410 RBH might be augmented by the high mids of the aluminum Hartke 15".

I haven't used a GK amp with the 410XL but comparing my 410XL to my GK 212 Neo, with the same Hartke HA5500 amp, the 410XL sounded as though it had a heavy blanket over it. The GK Neo cabs sound more "hifi" than the Hartke XL cabs IME, and their light weight is icing on the cake.

I use a 4.5 XL with my Ampeg PF-800. It sounds great. I even disconnected the 5 inch driver and it still has plenty of highs.

I actually have two of them- I rarely need the second one unless we are outside.

It is heavy- It can go low if you need it to. And the price is right.

No Murphy I have a GK 700RBII 115 combo and I want to get a 410 cab to tighten up the sound for slap/funk type stuff and just to add more highs for me rock tones as well. I'm just wondering if I should just use the 410 cab either a GKrbh or Hartke xl or if I should just use the 410 cab alone without the 15 inch speaker. I've pairing a 15 with 410s can cause problems, and my other question was how much better are the gallien Krueger RBH cabs than the hartke XL series cabs? I have a hartke 215xl and it sounds awesome for lows but there isn't enuff highs realy for cutting edge rock tones or slap realy. If the hartke 4.5xl is a good enough cab I may just go with that option instead of paying almost double for the hartke 410xl cab. Just wanted sum more insight from other players who have used the 410xl or 4.5xl with GK amps and who can give a comparison between hose and the GK RBH caves. Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Humorously enough, GK's brightest, cuttingist, and tightest cab is their Neo 115.
