It worked for me when I used them. The Headway would sometimes 'bonk' the speaker though.Does a Headway EDM1 have enough gain to work with a piezo pu and a powered MAS18?

Thanks, Ric. Sounds like the EDM may not be the best choice. I'll probably have a chance to try it at some point.Eric,
I’ve used a Headway EDB-2 and the Headway EDB-2 H.E. ( which was a complete redesign of of that box)
They will drive the powered MAS 1/8 (v1 & v2) I had the demo of the EDM-1 that Rick sent around a few years back.
At the time I don’t recall if I had my first MAS 1/8 yet. All I remember is that the EQ section of the EDM-1 didn’t get me
the tone quality I needed. By comparison the EDB-2 was more sophisticated. Just my take however. The Gain control on the EDM-1 goes from 0-20 dB while the EDB-2 goes from 0-32 dB That is a significant difference. By comparison my Grace Felix is 21-62 dB. On a loud gig with a Quintet or a 16 piece band the EDB-2 and MAS 1/8 combo will certainly work but the Grace MAS 1/8 combo doesn’t break a sweat. unless the drummer is overpowering.
Confused, you like the Focus pre with the powered MAS?Yeah into a powered MAS18 my Redeye twin does not have enough juice to get loud even though the 18 is a 1200W internal amp. Dunno. I also note that with both my 18 and 16 (both powered) using them with a AIFocus sounds better then using the internal amp.
After lots of experimenting, the Grace Felix preamp, has significantly more output into either of the powered MAS 1/8’s I have.
