I just recently got my first bass (still in search of my first amp, have thread posted for it if you have suggestion).

I got my first bass, I am proud owner of 5 string yamaha trbx.

I hope I can contribute to community and get to know you guys.

what made you decide to start with a 5-string? i also started on a 5er, but ended up moving to mostly 4-strings since then.

Nice choice on that Yamaha bass, You'll have fun learning your way around it.
Good call getting involved in the forums and starting a thread. Another neat option available to you is to search through some of the older threads using keywords like your bass model and perhaps an amp brand to see what suggestions have been made before and to connect with other players.
Also, if you feel comfortable doing so, you can join (all that involves is posting in the thread that you'd like to join the club and the original poster will assign you a number if they are still active) the club of players with the same bass you have in this thread: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/yamaha-trbx-club-talkbass.1141913/
Even if you don't want to join the club, you'll surely enjoy reading through that thread at your leisure to find out what other players are jamming with on their TRBX.
