I thought I posted this yesterday, but can't find my post. Anyway I'm taking the easy way out here and asking my TalkBass brethren before going off on searches. Where would the best place to find a battery compartment for my 1980 Guild B401? It's been awhile since I have looked for any parts.
Here is a pic of the pre-amp. Nice, neat, and fairly high-end looking isn't it? Especially given 35+ years old. Guild made nice basses, as this B401 continues to often be my #1, just switched on to passive as of late.
The battery works intermittently especially if I stiffen the connections with a piece of cardboard or something.
I have been having trouble with the compartment making a solid connection with the battery and do not believe it is any wires/board connections going to the compartment. Is there anything I should know about ordering the proper compartment or installing it. I have good soldering equipment and I am an okay solderer.
