An older used Opto Stomp would be my first choice. The newer versions, not so much.

+1. Second choice of the ones you have listed would be the Spectracomp...never used one but I hear they sound great when you get then tweaked with the software and there's just the one knob and small size.

For size, flexibility and overall badassery, you might consider the Becos Compiq.

Read about it and other awesome compressors here (if you haven't already):

Testing Compressors: Cali, Smoothie, Empress, Diamond, Keeley, FEA, Darkglass, Doc Lloyd, JHS & more

The tc electronic SpectraComp is the best compressor pedal on the market. *However*, in order to unlock its potential, you must be able to connect a smartphone, tablet, or PC to use the editor, and you must know how to effectively use a multiband compressor without training wheels.

None of the other pedals you've listed are remotely comparable.

OP asked about less expensive pedals. The Keeley is $200. Fanbois need to chill.

From the list posted, the TC models are probably your best value. Personally I have a grudge against TC, so I haven't tested those, but others like them quite well on bass. Like others mentioned, an older model of the BBE is a good bet.

You can find my reviews of some of the others on my OVNILab site, linked in my sig. My reviews of most of the ones in this list are not positive, FYI. Also on the site is a link to my top picks, including the best "cheap" options that I tried.

Too bad you can't swing the extra $35 :(

Sorry man but I'm really "don't get you".

The Bassist is listed around 199 $ (sweetwater) ... all the other pedals range around 50-100 $ (which is kind my budget) so it's almost "double" the price.
So let me get this straight.. if you're trying being funny well you're not and please ignore this thread. All the help on the other hand is appreciated.

Thank you

There's nothing to get. You came here and asked for expert advice and you're getting it.

Keeleys are $135 used all day long and is the correct tool for the job that you said you wanted to do. The Spectracomp is the opposite of a transparent limiter.

Buy whatever you want. Good luck.
