I'm a part-timer. For me, the revenue hit from the Giant Pandemic Gig Shrink is significant but not catastrophic. I miss playing with bandmates more than I miss the money.
But I'm really feeling sorry for the pros among us whose livelihood depends on music. Gigs are drying up everywhere and it's likely to be a long, crappy summer.
One way we can help each other is through online lessons while all of us have discretionary time. That will be a lot easier if we know who's teaching and who's interested in learning.
I encourage teaching pros who have the chops and the teaching credentials to make themselves known. Tell us about yourself, your teaching experience, whether you use FaceTime or Zoom or other technology, and if TB private messages are the best way to contact you.
Same goes for those seeking to use this "downtime" (literally!) to hone their skills. Post a note about your level of experience and what skills you'd like to improve upon.
Let's plow through this thing together.
Thanks, all.
