Hondo Explorer Bass

I've been seeing a few of these pop up, monikered with the Formula 1 and Deluxe Series 880 markings and all in pretty great condition considering their age. But I'm having a little trouble wrapping my head around what's being asked for them.
Anywhere from $369 to $398.
As much as I'd like to pick one up (GASed hard for one when I was a teenager), I really don't think that they're worth that much.
Am I wrong, is there a market for vintage Hondo instruments that I'm not aware of?

I had a Hondo Explorer guitar back in the 80’s. I would kinda be interested in picking one up just to judge it from my now much more experienced perspective, but at what price? I’m not sure, but it wouldn’t be much. For under $200 I would consider it, but that’s just me.

Interesting that from what you say, they might be gaining some value. Ah, memories...
