How close is Aguilar's Tonehammer Pedal to their OBPs?

I'm trying to decide whether I want to replace the preamp in one of my basses with the Aguilar OBP-2. Will playing it through the Tone Hammer pedal be an accurate way to decide?

Doesn't the Aguilar ToneHammer pedal use the Aguilar OBP-3 preamp inside of it?
