Hi guys,

I've been playing for about 9-10 years now and used to be an active gigging bass player. However, I shifted my city and stopped playing live for about a year and a half for intense work pressure. Recently I've joined a band and started playing again (It's mainly hard/glam rock covers) with which we plan on playing occasional gigs. In the past, I've had a nice pedalboard with all analog pedals, however, I sold all that before I shifted city and I knew that I won't be able to play much for quite some time again.

So, since it's not much more than playing the occasional gigs, I've been thinking of putting together a hybrid setup instead of investing a lot of money on multiple pedals. I checked out the new MXR M81, which looks really nice and I've been thinking of adding a multi-effect to it for the additional tones + tuner (I'm not a big tone user, just the basic ones) and hence, here come my queries:

1. Do you think it will be a good idea to add a multi-effect before a bass preamp/di? I have never used that combination before.

2. Will there be a signal loss right after the multi-effect or is that a thing of the past?

3. I'm thinking of Zoom MS60B. Any other options? Vox Stomplab 1b looks pretty cool too. What do you guys think about it? Zoom b1on looks pretty neat too.

One thing is, I'm from India, and there isn't a lot of option available here. It will be really helpful if you guys can suggest and advice me on the above queries. Looking forward to hearing from you people!

Cheers!

Bump!

Anybody??

Congrats on getting back into playing.....

1. Yes, id put the preamp last in the signal chain....the m81 is a pretty good one...

2 and 3 The zoom 60b is a good multi and I haven't had any signal loss issues with it. But you cab always add a separate mini buffer after it if you need to. However, I don't think its necessary here.

Good luck and keep us updated....

I have been using the MS60b for years and I think it’s a very good pedal. I also just purchased the B3n and have started to get into into and the sound quality is really good. I also use the Mxr M81 but mostly as a DI box. I like the zoom pedals as an all in one deal.
