Looking forward to your thoughts on this once you’ve had an opportunity to use it!
My initial reply is that the preamp on this little headphone amp is several steps above any other headphone amp I have ever tried. The tone options are clearly audible and usable. This headphone amp is only $59. This is very nice so far.Looking forward to your thoughts on this once you’ve had an opportunity to use it!
This was not directed at me, and I have NOT tried the Fender, but my experience with real-time bluetooth devices is the latency ("lag") makes them unbearable as a musician. Non-musicians may not notice, but...I'm also in the market for a headphone amp for easy practice on travels. I'm leaning towards Fender Mustang Micro Plus due to its Bluetooth connectivity instead of having to deal with an aux cable. Did you try that - can you A/B with Aguilar?
If you’re just using Bluetooth to play audio into the device the lag is irrelevant. I would concur that a headphone amp plug with Bluetooth audio is a fabulous practise tool. I’ve had the NUX Mighty Plug and now a Boss Katana Go, and both have been excellent. This was not directed at me, and I have NOT tried the Fender, but my experience with real-time bluetooth devices is the latency ("lag") makes them unbearable as a musician. That Fender sounds interesting, but I already bought the Aguilar.I'm also in the market for a headphone amp for easy practice on travels. Am intrigued by the Aguilar for its simplicity. But since the bass is so big by comparison, anything that fits into the gig bag is portable enough for me, so can be quite big, eg a Zoom B3.
For travel I use a Boss BR-80 with aux in for playalongs. It can record, has amp sims and effects. It's a swiss army knife of portable guitar amps.
At home I connect a Bluetooth receiver to the aux in and stream mission/Moises etc for leaving, practice etc.

I had an early bass Amplug, and i just bought this Aguilar version a few days ago. Eagerly waiting for it's delivery. My initial reply is that the preamp on this little headphone amp is several steps above any other headphone amp I have ever tried. I also have the bass Amplug and it’s finally showing its age in the form of a sketchy connection in some parts of the jack’s rotation. Very curious to see if the Aggie version is a solid replacement or if it’s worth upgrading to a katana or mustangI had an early bass Amplug, and i just bought this Aguilar version a few days ago.
