I done do'od it. Was great. Turned the master down a smidge and let the amp (GB Shuttle 9) do it's thing @4ohms. The usual fat, full sound I aim for most gigs only moreso.

I even put the 15" on top of the 2-10's !!! (Bag End S-15 I and D10B-D). Filled both the room and dance floor without breaking a sweat.

Crazy, huh? :woot:

What a coincidence; at our last band practice I was goofing around adding a cab with one 15” Scorpion to my Hartke 4 x 10, and after several songs I put the 15 on top. It definitely sounded warmer and rounder than having the 4 x 10 on top.

In my situation I prefer the extra apparent articulation of having the 4 x 10 on top, but in either configuration adding that Scorpion in there seemed to do cool things to the mids.

It was kind of fun watching the drummer and guitarist struggle with the concept of having the 15 on top though. They were worried it would be wrong because all the bass would be coming from the wrong place. They are both convinced all the lows are coming from that Scorpion 15.

I'd like to see an Ampeg 4ohm 8x10 fridge mixed with my Euphonic Audio 1x10 also at 4ohm. When I was borrowing this Epifani 4X10, I did try for a minute and it was not bad. I had a 2ohm capable amp of course and was very prudent on the master volume.

Isn't the Bag End 2x10 a 4 ohm cab on its own? If so, you may be driving a lower impedance than your amp allows.

Mixing cabs can be fine. Just be aware of impedance and how the power sharing works. There can be issues, so I think most of the “don’t mix cabs” advice comes from threads where people are asking what extension cab they should use for a particular setup. In most cases, I’d advise to just get a second of the same cab you currently have if you like the sound already, you’ll share power evenly and not have any combing issues. Basically a best bet for success when you can’t try before you buy.
