Double Bass I NEED A DB FOR RENT IN NY!!

Hi.
I´m going to travel to new york to study double bass with a private teacher.
From may 30th to june 26th.
I try in almost all the rental places and i don´t have any luck, so i wanna ask if one of you rent one of his DB or maybe know someone who does it (ideally a 3/4 DB)

I will appreciate any data that you can give me.

i will be staying in brooklyn.

Unfortunately I don't play upright (I wish I could), but maybe try posting on ny craigslist? People who are selling might rent. Maybe some schools would rent you one as well. Also, ask your instructor if you haven't already. Good luck!

Love how the 2 answers you get are from cats that don't even play the instrument.

Anyway, check David Gage & Sam Finlay's place, their rentals are (if memory serves) Strunal plywoods. Maybe check also with my former teacher Joe Solomon, he's been having a bunch of school basses repaired and refurbished to sell, he might have one that he's willing to rent. His studio number is 212-741-2839.

Because the risk of damage and the expense to ship a double bass from Europe to the States for basically a single month and then back makes less than no sense.

I try kolstein, but they don´t answer the e-mails. I call they by phone and they says me that they gonna answer by mail all that i need to know... here waiting...
Maybe is best some contact of some musician who´s an extra DB for rent. I will appreciate it so much.

I bought a bass from him, and I agree Geoff is great to deal with, but North Yonkers is a bit of a haul from Brooklyn. If you can find one in Brooklyn or lower Manhattan you'll probably be happier.

Make sure to find out before you travel if you need your own case. You'll also probably want your own bow.
