I'm looking for a 212 cabinet, and from what I think I know, the two most likely candidates are the Mesa Subway 212 or the Bergantino NXT 212.
I'm using a Bergantino Ref. 112 and couldn't be happier with it. So, I'd like to find a 212 that gets me in that same neighborhood. I've been looking for another Ref. 112, which would be a good solution, but haven't been able to find one.
I'm using Mesa D-800+, that I really like. I've previously used the Bergantino HT212 and the CN212. So, the NXT seem like an obvious solution. But, I've heard such great things about the Subway, that I think it might be a good way to go.
I really liked the CN212 and used it for R&B, country, pop/rock and jazz gigs. It might have benefited from a little more grunt, which is what I think I might get from the Subway.
Right now I'm playing mostly contemporary jazz, but that could change.
What do you suggest? For what it's worth, the closest dealer is Bass Central, and that's about a 4 hour drive. And finding a dealer with both cabinets in stock at the same time has not been easy. So, I'm doing as much homework as I can upfront. Thanks!
