I think i have a neck problem

I found a beauty a hama okamoto precision conditioned as never played, just put in the garage for like 4month(god.."in tuned"!!)
I bought it and took it home to take some measurements just in case.
I found it have slightly more relief under e string than on the g string.
Ive checked it with capo on the 1st fret pushing on the 17th fret.
Measuring under 7th fret, relief under e string fits 0.5mm pick and relief under g string have it like 0.2~0.38
Judging from eyeballing, under the bottom of the bass i can check the neck bowed on the e string side more....
Is it very normal thing to happen?? I hope it doesnt have any problem!!

Thank you for reading my thread :)

From what you are describing here in the pictures it would appear that the bass has a warped neck. Have you checked the height of the strings above the first fret? You usually want about 0.22 From the top of the fret to the bottom of the string. If you don't have that measurement on both sides, then you could have a nut problem, or a slight twist or warp in the neck. Normally you should not have one side of the neck that is bowed more than the other side. That normally indicates an issue. As usual with things like this sometimes getting the opinion of a quality Luthier would be advisable.

You also might get more answers if you post this in the hardware setup and repair forum.

Hello turnaround thank you for the reply!
One more thing ive been worried about is, after some time playing it, will it get more relief asymmetry on it?
How about storing it tuned DADG to prevent it?

Thank you!
Height under 1st fret is both same under each side of the string.

What I was meaning was on both sides of the neck You should have the same height above the first fret for both the E and G strings.

If so try sending your neck relief around .010-.013 and then set your string height for all your strings at the 17th fret around 5/64th

That should give you a basic starting point and if all your fret workers good and your neck is good it should play clean with those settings try it and see

The truss rod is meant to balance the tension of the strings. so keep it in balance and don't detune it when storing.

From what you're saying the difference in relief between the two sides of the neck could be as little at 0.12 mm (0.005")? Are you experiencing any problems in playing the bass? I'm not saying there's no issue with the neck, in an ideal world it would be close to no difference between the sides, though more relief on the bass side of the neck would be preferable to the opposite.

It plays like butter but the measurement is just like that!! Thank u for the reply!

Unless you live in a moderate climate keeping a bass in the Garage for 4 months has most likely caused the issue.

When the truss rod is adjusted properly, from the bridge end, look up both sides of the neck, it should be relatively straight.
If not, that's where you might be able to see a difference.

Twists usually require heat to bring them back into function, not a trivial task.

If it were me I'd go through a whole proper setup, and forget the numbers, set it for comfort for both you and the bass.

It seems odd for you to be concerned over measurements when you say it plays like butter.
Good luck.

Hi dark thank you for the reply
Today i went to repair store to see if its fine.
Measured with a fretboard ruler, he says this kind of twist is just good, making it better in gettin no E string buzz!
One more curious thing ive been thinking is
Why more relief on E string side is more common despite of stronger tension of D and G string?
