I think I just recorded the sloppiest bassline in history. Guitar player humor here.

Sometimes when I get ideas...I try to get them recorded so I got them stored. Anyway I took an old riff a friend of mine and me wrote when we were young and punk'd it up a bit. I know its not perfect, I was just noodling about and I know were to tighten it up...but the three guitarists I know must not have anything nice to say about it because they have not sent back an opinion. LOL!! :roflmao:

Anyway you ever notice a guitarist can send you a rough idea of something and you accept that its just a recorded idea nothing else....but you send them something that isn't perfect and they ignore you! :D Always seems to be a double standard there when it comes to just bouncing ideas around.

Anyway the three guitarist I sent this to are a blues rock guy, a grunge guy, and a acoustic folk guy. I figured one of them would like it to some extent. I have played with all three of them, to the grunge guys credit he said he would listen to it at lunch.

But here it is...the sloppiest bassline in the world recorded with a Peavey Fury Pbass with an SPB-2, Digitech BP-90 on a 12 year old E-machine computer on audacity...with about 5-7 Busch beers involved.

Next time lay some guitar chords on it so the geetarists will understand your idea. Among other things they may lack imagination.

Honestly I thought possibly I had heard the first and last part part in an existing song before. Possibly they are too polite to say that.

Totally keep recording ideas though. And you are right to not waste time to make them perfect. You'll hit a good/great one eventually.

Mentioning the beer is good for deniability. Thanks for sharing.

Well...I did mention to them it was intro/chorus, verse, and chorus.

I've collected a dozen of clips like this over the past few weeks. I used to believe anything good I would remember but it never worked that way. Someday if I need a quick idea, I'll have one.

Yeah...I am with you on that. A lot of times I like to just record ideas before I forget them. LOL Even then I will look back and go, "What was that I did again." LOL
