Just received my new Ibanez MB300C bass case. It is build for the SR line of Ibanez basses, with the cutout that snugly holds the body. Specs say it’ll hold from a 4 to a 6 string. Just got it so I’ll post back in a bit to see how this thing gigs.

How solid does the case feel?

It’s not a wood case, neither in weight or structure. I surely don’t have a worry that my bass would be bent or compressed in any way.
But... I wouldn’t sit on it or put my cab on it. Though, I did set my cab on it (BF BB2) and it held it fine.
The outer surface has “Ibanez” printed deep in it, providing a good deal of structural support.
Inside, it feels very solid and holds the SR nicely. I read a review that the upper horn’s strap knob barely fits. I have a fully sunk strap-lock so that’s a non issue for me. But if you have a protruding strap knob, it might be an issue.

No, there aren’t any removable parts. It seems to cradle the neck and snug-hold it when closed.
owh... I see. I thought it's the same as the newer MRB500C, which has removable & configurable neck cradle to adapt to the bass neck size (seems it's because the newer hard shell case can be used with up to 7 string BTB).
