Ibanez Talman Series TMB100 $169, Rosewood Fretboard, Mint Green

Stupid good deal here. I wish I could justify even $169 but I already have two basses in this color palette and also zero need for another bass.
Like you, I have way too many basses. Nevertheless, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this one. Even though I don't need it, I figure it'll make a good gift for somebody somewhere down the line who needs, but can't afford a decent bass.

Also a great way to experiment with pickups if that's your jam. Congrats on a nice deal!

REPORT: The good and the bad. :D

Good: Looks great. Finish, color, fretwork were all impressive. Lots of tonal possibilities. I like the placement of the output jack. Like a Strat.

Bad: I've bought and sold probably 70 basses over the decades. Absolutely the worst setup I've ever seen on a new bass. The strings were laying on the fretboard. Tuned up as best I could and it was still "rattle city". Raised the action, then made several truss rod adjustments over the next couple days before getting it dialed in. But this is basically an entry-level bass. If some kid would have gotten it, he'd have probably had to take it to a tech for a setup. Fretboard (Jatoba) seemed pretty dry. I put some Howard Feed 'n Wax on it and it seems much better now.

Bottom Line: Pretty decent bass after getting it set up properly. Sounded even better after I slapped a set of used Chromes on it. Great for playing in questionable venues, and even as an everyday bass. Definitely worth the price I paid for it. Attractive, and sounds pretty dang good.
