If you had some cash to blow what bass would you buy today?

I don't know about you guys but I like to cruise reverb and guitar center etc and look at basses. So what do you have on your "watching" list that you're not going to buy but would sure like to?

I'd get a Gibson Bass IV, only made for two years in the 80's has a thru neck, thunderbird pickups, Flying V style head stock and I think the body looks kind of like a Victory. I don't think talking price ranges or linking to outside adds is allowed here so I just googled for some pics.

Ever since I had a squire jazz fretless with ebonol fingerboard for several weeks, I have been wanting a similar fretless with the ebonol fingerboard. So that would be my choice a fretless bass with a wider and chunky neck and ebonol fingerboard.

I'm still trying to decide if a fanned fret is something or not. And with some "freemoney" I might try to find out.
I'm not sure though if I'd go all the way to Dingwall or just stick a toe in the water first with an Ibanez or something from RondoMusic.com.
(I almost did buy a combustion from TB classifieds once. I really should have gone through with it)

I love ebonol! A Pedulla buzz sounds/feels similar IMO. The Buzz has a heavy poly coated Ebony fretboard.

I have had all kinds of fretless basses with boards made of Ebony, graphite, maple, diamondwood and rosewood and I liked the ebonol the best. It is an amazing fretless neck material IME. I have had my fretless Squier Jass for over 10 years and still love it.

In the I Could Probably Justify This Purchase camp, I'd get another fretted 6-string so I have a backup to my main Modulus. Perhaps a new G.Gould GGi6, or an older Modulus Graphite Quantum-6 TBX if fortune was smiling on me. Maybe an Elrick, or a Pedulla MVP-6, or, if fortune was really smiling, a Fodera.

In the This Is Pure Fantasy camp, I'd get an Alembic 32" scale small bodied 4-string Series I ...just because.
