I'm struggling with the photos, so hopefully they work. Regardless, I do have links to the websites.
This is the Ibanez page: SR506 | SR | ELECTRIC BASSES | PRODUCTS | Ibanez guitars
This is what I think should be the same instrument, from Music Go Round: https://www.musicgoround.com/produc...P2Eke1lWQOLnnlql4IIhUsgQXQCF5SB8aAgTcEALw_wcB
I believe they say that they are the same instrument, however, I do see some differences. For example, in the Music Go Round instrument, it has silver screws on the pickups, while the Ibanez one has black. Also, there appears to be a pickup selector switch on the

one, but not on the Music Go Round. Are these just different models of the SR506? I've found multiple other used basses that look more like the one on the Ibanez website for much more money than the one on Music Go Round. Am I just being a little stupid?
Thanks!

There are a number of models of the SR series basses and both these look like the standard model. There are older ones like the one I own which just has plain old black paint and another difference is mine has a two band EQ. But then I paid less than your Music Go Round Price. And anyway I really hate that dull half-baked finish they put on the new ones. As far as I'm concerned the SR506 6 string basses are killer buys. Has 24 frets (which I like...which say the GSR206 does not...I have one of those too) and great tonewood. Used prices are typically killer if you can find them too! A lot of people seem to want to go with the BTB series instead of the SR, but I was never impressed with the BTB basses though they look like a million. This is why I have an old black paint two band SR506 that really kicks it.
Good luck. I'd play before you buy or at least make sure of a decent return policy.

Another place to look for killer 6 string bargains is used ESP LTD 6ers. Heavy but great.

Thank you! does 700 bucks seem about right for an SR?

Do you mean for a new one? The Music Go Round used price seems a good deal to me. Mine was only $250 but was an older model. As for new I seem to be missing some information! I noticed that Zounds and MF both list them as no longer available. Does that mean they are discontinued? I know nothing of this. Maybe you need to root around online to find out more.

The used one could be earlier Korean made SR506 which pickups placement closer to bridge side.

Get the new one which has better tone BH2 (to me) ,new onboard preamp , extent neck join (avoid ski jump), new design bridge.

Hope help.
