Hi all,
I am a guitar player (who likes gear such as tubeamps) and as a hobby like to develop my own gear, notably speaker cabs and active monitors, as I haven’t been impressed with use of PA monitors or commercial FRFR solutions available to amplify my Fractal Modeler.
Some time back I started to play bass as well (5 string), and noted some folks on the web using modelers for bass. However so far I haven’t come across any gear that can do true FRFR down to 30 Hz (say +/- 3dB) in a balanced/accurate way (so without wobbly time-group-delays from bass reflex ports) say upto ~110dB. Hence I am developing a compact-active monitor that can achieve this, affordably.
Any ideas welcomed! Have I missed any options out there? What do you use to amplify bass from your modeler? Anyone interested to learn about the outcome of my true Extended Bass FRFR monitor project?
