Instrument insurance for gigging musicians

I gig pretty regularly and I'm always reading about bands having their stuff stolen. I'm interested in getting my gear (instruments, pedals, amps) insured just in case.

What companies have good reputations for covering gear? Does anyone have personal experiences/horror stories about dealing with these companies?
