So my idea is the following one - I want to use awg 41 wire for a pickup of a shortscale bass. I want it to only have one pickup, a reverse P one, but still be very bright. Since I plan for the bass' scale to be 25.5 inches, I want a pickup that's very bright, but without any bells and whistles. I'd pair this with neodymium discs to improve the output.
So, does neodymium magnet + awg 41 wire lead to a bright P pickup? Obviously, the rest of the P pickup setup is standard (it's two coils in series).
How much should I wind it, however? I want to make sure it's not too dark but also has plenty of output. How much can I even wind into one P coil, considering standard size bobbin, and awg 41 wire?
