Is this 1963 P bass worth $5000.00 ??

Ok so the guy wants $5000.00 for this bass . Neck Plate # is ( L11510 ). He was advertising it as a 1957. I would want to see what story the neck pocket has?
Still have to see it in person but it is in rough shape. Maybe offer him $2000.00 if it is the REAL THING?

Since it does not appear to be functional, I think $2,000 is quite generous, however, I would not be surprised if some Fender lover offered close to $5,000 if it is the real deal.

It's definitely not a '57. Possibly a '63 or very early '64. And not worth 5k at all. The refin, lack of tort guard (which would be around $800 if you can find a good original) and not knowing if the pots and pickups are original, keep this in the 2k range maybe.

Not a vintage fender expert but doesn't look a penny over 2000 to me. Agree with 1800 ish

If the neck and body are real and it plays good I'd go $2k and not a dollar more. The case looks OK too.
