The skunk stripe and sq on the serial number make me think there’s a chance it could be legit, but no decal on the headstock, the rattle can paint job just make it difficult to know what is original and what isn’t.

Those pickups are Squier Bullet pickups. But the headstock is a regular P-bass shape. Poster above suggests a reasonable theory. But really the body and neck could be from almost anything.

The knobs, pickup, pickguard, and bridge check out.

However, MIJ bullets did not come with grover tuners afaik. Body section of the guitar is probably original, the neck and tuners, don't think so. The shape of the headstock of the MIJ bullets did NOT look like what is in this picture.

This. The headstock should look like a tele bass'. Neck plate, pickups look right.
Guessing a replacement neck (tuners aren't stock either) on a body of indeterminate origin with that rattle can.

were it $200 or less I'd take a look

Weird indent on lower horn, looks like it's from a larger pickguard. So body might not be original either? Maybe hardware moved from the original to a who-knows-what body? As mentioned if it's cheap it could still be a cool piece, but no value based on age and pedigree.

The body quacks like a duck though. Upper horn is shorter than on a regular (whether original Fender/Squier or ripoff) P-bass.

How do I close a thread?
Typically you don't, there's no need. People might still comment which is fine. You don't have to comment further if you don’t want to. Might be more information people provide, might be somebody buys that bass and finds this thread. But no need to close it to further comment, especially after you've come to your decision and posted as such.
