I just received a J-Retro Deluxe preamp and am attempting to install into a Jazz Deluxe body. The issue is that the output jack is attached to the preamp, but the hole to pass through from the control cavity to the side out hole is too small for the jack to fit through. I am reluctant to tug on the wires that affix the output jack to the preamp (they look like they might be slip on or might just be taped), and I'm darn sure not going to cut the wires and reassemble without even knowing if the preamp is any good.

I've left a message for John on his website, but was wondering if anyone has had this issue as well and what the resolution is.

Thanks

I heard back from John and the solution will be to unsolder and resolder the output jack. Moving forward this might lead to a solderless solution for this part of the assembly. I will take all the credit for future generations who benefit from my travails.
