Jackson® today announces the brand-new JS Series Spectra Bass models, as well as a complete refresh to the X Series Concert Bass™ models.

Designed with the artist in mind, the JS Series Spectra Bass JS2, JS Series Spectra Bass JS3 and JS Series Spectra Bass JS3V all feature a brand-new offset poplar Spectra body shape. The large upper horn evenly distributes weight throughout these instruments, providing perfect balance for hours of comfortable playing by reducing neck dive.

Featuring a Jackson J-style bridge pickup and P-style neck pickup, the four-string JS2 delivers a range of punchy growls or lucid tones that can be tweaked and refined with blend, bass boost and volume controls (with a push/pull selector to bypass or engage the active circuit for the bass boost). Available in Gloss Black, Metallic Blue, Snow White or Tobacco Burst, the JS2 also features a bolt-on maple neck with scarf joint, 12” radius laurel fingerboard, Jackson hardtail bridge and a unique Jackson 2x2 headstock with an understated J logo.

The 4-string JS3 and 5-string JS3V feature a bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint and a 12”-16” compound radius laurel fingerboard. Dual passive Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups deliver a monstrous, deep low-end growl, while a HiMass™ bridge provides rock-solid stability and improved sustain. These models also feature a two-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting, 3-band EQ (active only), blend control and volume control with push/pull selector to bypass or engage the active circuit for the 3-band EQ.

The JS3 is available in Gloss Black, Metallic Red or Silverburst, while the JS3V is offered in Satin Black, Silverburst and Walnut Stain. Both models feature a unique Jackson headstock (JS3 2x2; JS3V 3x2) with J logo.

With the push/pull selector feature on all models, there’s no fear of a battery running out and losing sound. A quick pull on the volume knob will bypass the active circuit, making it easy to regain sound from the bass without the use of battery power.

X Series Concert Bass Refresh

Upgraded electronics, classically brutal style and fast, efficient playability make the new X Series Concert™ Bass lineup a fundamental force to be reckoned with.

The heart of these new low-end beasts is a Jackson J-style bridge pickup and Jackson P-style neck pickup, mated to an active 3-band EQ circuit for adding punch, cut, rumble or grunt. A Jackson HiMass™ bridge enhances note attack and sustain without altering tone while the sealed die-cast tuning machines keep the strings in tune even with the most aggressive of playing styles.

The four-string CBXNT IV is available in Matte Army Drab with a parchment pickguard and gold hardware and features a poplar body, 34” scale, one-piece maple neck-through body and a 12"-16" compound radius bound laurel fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets for lightning-fast playability. The CBXNTM IV shares the same features but offers a maple fingerboard and comes in a Butterscotch or Snow White finish with black pickguard and chrome hardware.

Also featuring a poplar body and one-piece maple neck-through body, the five-string X Series Concert Bass models have a slightly longer 35” scale.

The CBXNT V is available in Gloss Black with a white pickguard and chrome hardware and features a laurel fingerboard with pearloid sharkfin inlays.

The CBXNT V MAH features a mahogany top, laurel fingerboard with pearloid sharkfin inlays and is available in a Natural finish with parchment pickguard and gold hardware.

The CBXNTM V features a maple fingerboard with black sharkfin inlays and is available in Fiesta Red with a black pickguard and chrome hardware.

Highly affordable, these basses are the perfect weapon for the musician who requires nothing less than the latest in high-performance bass technology.

Sweet soundgear..... now how about you bring back the futura bass.
and while we're at it.... how about some nice MIJ versions at the $900-1400 range so we have a performance checkpoint between the lower end stuff and the MIA stuff?

Also.... im not just being snarky.... Jackson is my absolute favorite company when it comes to metal and whatnot... and I would love to see some stuff like this. Props on getting Loomis and building that sick sig Kelly for him... but we still have a ways to go guys. $3k street isn't a good value prop for most USA models when there are tons of great condition used ones for $1000-1400 that were pre-fender.

One interesting little detail about that Spectra JS3V-- it may very well be the most affordable 5-string with a 35" scale currently on the market.

I realize that an extra inch of neck length is not exactly a make-or-break feature for most folks-- but I still found it to be an interesting detail, nonetheless.

I played one of these at guitar center yesterday. I wasn’t expecting much at all when I saw the price, but I thought it looked cool so I took it down from the wall and plugged it in.

The neck was great, it played really well. I thought it also had a really good tone, although it inherently has a lot of trouble and mids so I had to turn those knobs down a bit but once I did it sounded great.

It was also really light weight, so considering the price this is one heck of a good deal.

I’ve also played the Yamaha that it resembles, and to be honest I actually prefer the Jackson.

Has anyone bought the Jackson JS3QV yet? I was looking for reviews/feedback on this model before I pull the trigger. I'm considering the Alien Burst that won't be shipping for another month or so.

I have 2 of the 4 strings. The blue burst and the white one with the loral fingetboard. I can't get over how much they could throw into a bass for the amount of money they are selling them for. They have good tone, light, amazing low action. The graphite rods do help I think. The fret work is great. What else can I say

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't come across many reviews from somebody who owns one, so the first hand experience is helpful.

I know this is an old thread but I was just looking at the Jackson X Spectra Bass SBXP V 5-String and was also wondering about the string spacing at the bridge......Then again, I'd like to see that as a spec. for ALL basses.
