Jazz bass low output

low output on D, G strings.
OK, so I just finished replacing pots and installed new Dimarzio jazz pickups and Labella flats on my J , connected in series as original. E and A string sound great, volume coming out of D and G at about one third. rechecked all connections everything looks ok. Anyone have any ideas? thanks

It sounds like you need to raise the G side of the pickup a bit closer to the strings.

Which DiMarzio's?

Sounds like you didn't connect the D/G side of coils, or connected them out of phase.

DiMarzio's Ultra-Jazz pickups have four wires, should be wired like this:
