My Punk DIY Jazz project..

ok I'm an idiot.. I saw it and I'm like that poor bass.. it's damaged pretty bad.. it's american elite body.. notice the curved heal.. and the battery compartment

some body's girlfriend smashed this... I want a jazz bass.. and I want to learn so.. I'm going to use this.. to toy with.. I'm now looking for another broken jazz to complete the bass.. lol I think cutting both straight.. and doweling the bodies together.. and just clear coating the seem.. I want to leave the frankstein look.. and maybe find a japanese or american jazz neck for it.. maybe the stacked knobs and basic jazz pickups.. but it's going to be luck of the draw as to what I find..

Sure. You could set up a table saw or band saw jig and cut the 2 bodies then joint each edge and start clamping. The only really broken bodies I remember all seem to be smashed in the same area though. Keep us posted if you move forward.
the other idea is to take a piece of wood and draw the lines can cut out the shape.. we shall see what I do.. lol

If you wanted it to be a REAL punk bass you'd just leave it as is and assemble it. I mean, people seem to like fake relics these days. Yours is real relic, and very relic!
Perhaps a bit of duct tape, too...and some stickers. Or skip the duct tape and use about 100 Hello Kitty stickers - that'd be super punk.

Use them to stick a pedal on the missing corner ala Devo.
