If you are going to attend the NAMM show, this would be a great chance for people that disagree with my views about learning to come and get a free bass lesson. I thought that it would make my views more understandable as I make myself available to answer your questions about some difficulties you may be experiencing in your playing.
Come to the Cort booth on Friday to Sunday at 2pm and 3:30pm. First come first served! Others that might not receive a lesson are invited to observe how the lessons proceed. It'll be a clinic at the Cort booth.
Also, I am playing at the Markbass booth on Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon. I'll be playing along with a CD of jazz tunes minus the soloist as NAMM has cut back on live music. Markbass prepared a headphone system that should provide a satisfying listening experience.
Cheers and enjoy the show.
P.S. While at the show, if you find a rocker or a slapper playing at a booth, ask them where they learned their particular playing skills. Take note that you probably will discover that practically all are self taught. This should lend some circumstantial evidence that certain playing styles have a history of being acquired without paying to learn them. Then come and share what you found out once we all get back from the show.
